Global Education strives to equip students with communication skills using English and other languages, cultural literacy grounded in the disciplines of cultural sociology, an education-focused mindset grounded in an interdisciplinary interest in education, and an ability to inclusively work with diverse partners. In a society that is experiencing increasing globalization, we are striving to cultivate individuals who can create new fields of education and educational activities in collaboration with schools and communities. The English Communication Course emphasizes English communication skills that can be used around the globe, and the cultivation of creativity, logicality, and positivity through Anglo-American liberal ideas. The Multicultural Literacy Course emphasizes the cultivation of communication skills and cultural literacy grounded in Japanese culture.

Education is not something that only occurs within schools or homes. Children grow through contact with various people and locations in the regions where they live. Understanding regions in this way, as the places where people live out their lives, is essential to understanding the people who live there and their lifestyles. In the Multicultural Literacy Course, students will study people and their regions comprehensively from various fields like literature, history, economics, philosophy, and the arts, and through international comparison with other countries.

Everyday living spaces are influenced by globalization, and the opportunities for interacting with multiple cultures are increasing. The Multicultural Literacy Course promotes learning informed by perspectives from Asia and Europe, and allows students to deepen their understanding of language and the cultures to which those languages are so intricately intertwined, and to learn different ways of communicating. Students will study communication from a variety of angles, including music and theater which, while reflecting elements of culture, are also excellent methods of communication. This kind of learning can also be used in cultivating distinctive Japanese language teachers.

The Multicultural Literacy Course curriculum encourages active engagement with international students on a daily basis to achieve mutual learning. It focuses on globalization at the local level, and encourages students to collaborate by interacting with various local organizations. Through daily practice, students will develop a deeper, more concrete multicultural understanding and perspectives from which to look at their regions.
