Meeting with Afghan Minister of Education Farook Wardag
During his visit to Japan, Afghan Minister of Education Farook Wardag met with OKU President Akira Nagao on March 26 at KKR Hotel Osaka.
On the condition of Afghan education, Minister Wardag commented "The civil war that lasted several decades destroyed many of the schools. 42% of the school-aged children cannot go to school. The quality of education is very poor. Education is extremely important, and if there were no education, there will be no peace, development, nor prosperity in any area. I would especially like our educators to receive university education."
President Nagao promised a continuous cooperation with the educational support in Afghanistan, and they exchanged frank opinions about what could be done.
